Chapter 1 – [ERROR!]


I look at the options. Neither one interests me. I click the 'X' on the right corner.
The screen went black suddenly. 
'WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!!' My computer screen lights up with red text. What the-?! What's happening?? I try to shut the computer down but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Then a white text appears on the screen.
'You really thought you would escape?'
'Why didn't you choose me?'
'This would have been easier for both of us...'
Suddenly my computer turns white, the light blinding me. I feel a pulling sensation and to my horror I'm sucked  inside the computer. 
When I open my eyes I see that I'm not in my room anymore. Terrified I look around and try to make sense of this. I can't be inside the game, that's impossible. But how else is this possible!? Everywhere I look I can see the design of the game. Then a thought pops into my head. I look at myself and scream. This is impossible! I-I can't be...! How...? I start to hyperventilate. No- I can't breath! Then a hand touches my shoulder. I didn't almost notice.
"[Name]." I turn around and see Orion standing beside me. 
"I-I can't-!" I try to say but my words won't come out. Then Orion does the unexpected. He takes me in his embrace surprising me. 
"Breath in. Exhale out." He starts to repeat those words calming me down. When my breath finally goes evenly Orion let's me go and smiles. 
"T-Thanks." Orion looks surprised. 
"I-I didn't do anything special." He says blushing and looking at the ground. 
"No, you really helped me out. I don't know what have I done if you weren't here." I say smiling. Orion looks at me shocked. His cheeks are red as he opens and closes his mouth. 
"I-I-I... Y-You..." I furrow my brows, not understanding what he tries to say. 
"Orion-" I'm about to ask what's wrong when Orion's eyes fill with tears. 
"I'm sorry. It's has been so long since someone has been nice to me. I'm pathetic, right?" I then remember what his classmates said about him.
'Classmate1: Why is that weirdo with the new kid?' He must had it hard way...
"Orion, you're not pathetic." I say smiling. I hug him until his tears dry down. 
"Thank you." He whispers and hugs me back. 
"What are you two doing here? School has ended already." Someone says from the distance. I'm about to look who it is when Orion stopped me. Orion holds my head on his chest and then says: "W-We were just leaving. See you tomorrow." Orion smiles and starts to pull me towards the exit.
"That was close..." Orion mumbles after we are outside. 
"What do you mean?" I ask frowning.
"Nothing you need to be worried about." Orion says smiling eyes closed. 
 "I can take you home now, I mean, if you want to." 
"You can do that??" Orion looks at me weirdly.
"Yeah, where do you live?" 
"I mean the real world! Out of this game." Suddenly Orion starts to laugh. 
 "What are you laughing at?" I ask confused. Orion wipes his eyes his laugh ceasing.
"You shouldn't joke like that."
"I'm not joking!" I shout frustrated.
"Stop it already, where do you live?" He asks smiling. I look at him my face pale. He doesn't know.
"I-I don't...know." Orion looks at me worried.
"You don't...know?" Orion looks confused say the least. 
"Yeah." 
"Well, then we have a problem. " He says serious. 
 "Do you have your phone?"
"My phone?"
"You could call your parents and ask them." I look through my pockets but can't find it. I don't have a backpack and don't remember bringing one. 
"I-I can't find it!" I say panicking. Orion is quiet thinking for a while.
"Th-This sounds weird but if you want you can come to my house." Orion says blushing. There isn't really any other choice and Orion seems the least dangerous character of the choices. Maybe I won't get killed if I agree to go. After making my decision, I look at Orion and smile. 
"Thanks, I'll appreciate that. If I'm not a hindrance to you then I gladly accept your offer." Orion smiles and we start to walk towards his home.
 "What about your parents?" I ask curiously. 
"T-They aren't at home at the moment", Orion says quietly looking at the ground, "They are in a business-trip." 
"Oh." Great [Name]! You don't sound like a jerk at all! 
 "I'm sorry, I didn't meant to be rude."
"Nah. It's okay." Orion smiles happily.
"If you say so..."
"And were here!" I look at the house in front of me my jaw dropping. This is not what I expected.
"Y-You live here?" I say looking at the mansion my eyes wide open. 
"Is it bad?"
"N-No, not at all, I'm just surprised." I say looking at Orion my cheeks flushed. 
"Let's go in then." He says smiling. We go inside and Orion leads the way to his room.
"I would get lost here if I lived here." I say laughing.
"It gets easier after living here for a couple of months." Orion chuckles. 
 "Here we are!" Orion says after walking for a while. I look at the room curiously. In the room there are bed, desk, TV, and a few shelves. The room is big but comfy. 
"You have a nice room..." I say looking at the distant. My room... I wonder if anyone notices my absent. I live alone so probably no one. 
"[Name], are you okay?" Maybe this is just a dream. 
 "[Name]."
"Huh?"
"You are crying."
"Wha- I didn't notice."
"It's okay, [Name]. Everything will be alright." Orion says softly and takes me in his embrace. 
"Thanks..." We stand there for a couple of minutes just hugging. After I calmed down Orion leaves to get us something to eat. I went through his video games absent-mindedly. After a while I come to a realization that I don't recognize any game there is. Maybe I  just don't know them... I push the weird feeling away and focus my attention to somewhere else. This is just a dream anyways.
"[Name], I bought some sandwiches." Orion says and comes inside the room. I thank him and we start to eat. 
"What did you put in these? These taste really good!" But how can I taste this inside a dream?
"I'm glad you like them." Suddenly I hear a voice inside my head. But darling, you're not dreaming. So I do the only logical thing you can do after hearing something as creepy as that. I flinch and dash to Orion's lap hugging him. 
"What was that!?" I ask scared. 
"What do you mean?" 
"That voice!"
"Calm down, I didn't hear anything." Orion says his face puzzled. 
"Wha-? Then what did I....?" I ask confused.
"You're probably just tired. I'll make you a bed so you can go to sleep."
"Don't leave me, please." I say grabbing his hand. Orion looks surprised.
"Well, do you want to come with me then?"
"Yeah." We leave the room and go through the maze-like hallway. What was that voice? It sounded so creepy.
"Do you want to sleep on guestroom or in my room?"
"If it's alright then in your room." 
"Okay." Orion says happily. After Orion made a bed for me I decided to go to sleep. Maybe the voice would go away after good nights sleep. At least I hope so.

Prologue

It's Friday evening and I'm walking back home. The trees are already bare, the leafs scattered all around the ground.

At my front door I notice a package sticking out of my mailbox. I took the package and turn it around to see a letter attached to it.

'Congratulations! We have chosen you to try out our new otome game which is coming up soon. We wish you enjoy!'

Weird... But cool. I open my front door and step in to my apartment. I leave my coat at the entry and start to tear the package open. Inside the package is the game. I took the the game and left the package on the bin. The game's name was spelled on the cover with cursive letters. 'Dark Desires'. There are four characters drawn on anime style. The one that catches my eyes is a pink haired boy with turquoise eyes. I turn the game around and read the text there.

'Welcome to the world of madness, we hope you enjoy your time staying here. There's no where to hide once you've stepped inside. They will find you. Warning! This game contains strong violence and extreme gore. Play at your own risk.'

Interesting. I open the game and take the disc out. I put the disc inside my computer and start uploading it. Once the game is successfully loaded, I click the 'start' button.

'Enter your name:' I click the bar and type [Name]. I click 'next' and the title shows up on the screen. The music starts playing and the word 'Prologue' replaces the title. The game starts.

On a black screen appears text in white.

'Do you want to play a game?'

'Yes' or 'no'. I click 'yes' and the screen lights up showing a school building. What's up with that?

'It's Monday morning. It's my first day in school and I'm late so I'm running as fast as I can. When I'm almost there, I bump into someone and fell on the ground.'

'???: Are you okay?'

'Someone held me his hand. I look up and see a boy my age holding a sketchpad in the other hand.'

'I'm fine. Sorry for bumping into you.' or 'I don't need your help.'

'[Name]: I'm fine. Sorry for bumping into you.' The boy with pink hair appears on the screen. He has yellow coat and black and white stripped shirt underneath the coat. He has bright turquoise eyes and messy hair.

'???: I'm glad~! Here, I'll help you up.'

'???: My name is Orion. Nice to meet you~!'

'I don't care.' or 'Nice to meet you too. I'm [Name].'

'[Name]: Nice to meet you too. I'm [Name].'

'Orion smiles and helps me up. We walk to school together and find out that we're in the same class.'

'Orion sits next to me in the classroom and some students starts to gossip about us.'

'Classmate1: Why is that weirdo with the new kid?'

'Orion:I'm sorry if I'm making you feel uneasy. I can leave if you want to.'

'I feel uncomfortable...' or 'Don't leave, it's fine.'

'[Name]: Don't leave, it's fine.'

'Orion smiles with relief. The teacher comes in and the class fell silent.'

'???: Good morning class. My name is Sean Colin, you can call me professor Colin. Let's start the class.' On the screen appears a man with short violet hair and grey eyes. He'swearing a black vest and a white dress shirt underneath it. He has a stoic expression, his grey eyes emotionless.

'Orion:You are a new student right? I hope nothing bad will happen but don't be with him alone. I'm not trying to scare you or anything. It's just that... There are some scary rumors about him. I'm telling you this because you were nice to me too.'

'After the class I'm about to leave but someone stops me.'

'Sean: There is something I'd like to discuss with you. Follow me.'

'I don't want to.' or 'Okay.' I frown at the options. Which should I pick? I don't feel too good about this...

'[Name]: Okay.'

'I follow Sean to an empty classroom. Sean closes the door and locks it.'

'Sean: Now we're finally alone.'

'What do you mean?' or 'What do you want from me asshole?' Oh God...

'[Name]: What do you mean?'

'Sean: You will understand... I'll make you understand...'

'Sean comes closer. I back up my back hitting the wall and Sean smirks.'

'He cages me between him and the wall. He's tall so I'm faced with his chest.'

'Sean: Look at me.'

'I look up and see Sean smile a dark smile his eyes emotionless.'

'Escape' or 'Stay'

'I push Sean away and escape. I unlock the door and run.'

'As I'm climbing the stairs down I hear someone yelling my name. I turnaround and see young boy smiling brightly at me.' On the screen appears a boy with light blue hair. He seems younger than all the other characters. He has a denim jacket and underneath it a violet shirt which have a smiling emoji printed on it.

'???: [Name]-senpai!! I-I wanted to know if it's possible to talk to you for a second! I-I have admired you for a while! I think you are so cool!!'

'Oh God you are so cute!! Of course I'll talk with you!!' or 'I'm sorry but who are you?'

'[Name]: I'm sorry but who are you?'

'???: Oh, I didn't introduce myself! M-My name is Hunter!! Nice to finally meet you in person!!' This is creeping me out... Is he my stalker or something?

'Hunter: W-When I first met you, you don't probably remember but you were so kind!! I-I have admired you ever since! I even followed you here!!'

'What do you mean?' or'You are so adorable!!'

'[Name]:What do you mean?'

'Hunter: I was so sad after you left. But then I found out you were coming here to study so I wanted to study here too!!' He followed me? Wait, how did he...?

'How did you know I attended this school? Isn't that classified information?' or 'Oh, so exciting!!'

'[Name]: How did you know I attended this school? Isn't that classified information?'

'Hunter: That's a secret! Oh, I know~!! Why don't we play hide and seek? The winner get's to pick anything they want!! I'll be it!!' No.

'Hunter smiles excited and starts to count from ten. I took off running.' What?! No!!

'I run outside and see a building. I run inside afraid that he would find me. I went in from a random door and to my horror I see a naked man his back to me.' On the screen appears a guy without shirt. He has short light green hair and brown eyes. His hair is shorter than Sean's.

'???: Oh, hello there~!'

'The guy smiles eyes slightly open.'

'???: I've been waiting for you.'

'What are you talking about?' or 'Oh, sorry to be late then~'

'[Name]: What are you talking about?'

'???: You're not here for sex?'

'What?! No!' or 'I am!'

'[Name]: What?! No!'

'???: Hmm, too bad.'

'Can I know your name, darling~?' or 'Who are you?'

'[Name]: Who are you?'

'???: You don't know? You must be new. In this school isn't anyone who doesn't know me!! I'm Cole.'

'He winks at me. I turn around and am about to leave when I hear him say something that runs my blood cold.'

'Cole:The offer is still on. If you let me I'll lock you up and make you only look at me. Metaphorically of course.' He smiles a dark smile. Yeah, right...

The prologue ends there. I look at the screen and look at the options.

'Orion'

'Sean'

'Hunter'

'Cole'

Which one should I pick?
